Slipknot We Are Not Your Kind on the 9th, and despite receiving some criticism, the work reached the top of the music charts . Some of the criticism focused on the few guitar solos, and Jim Root finally responded to the comments.
“Obviously, Mick [Thomson] and I really like the guitar, we love playing guitar, we love doing solos in all the songs, but that didn’t occur to me,” he said in an interview with The Art & Span Show . The guitarist also revealed that he is more concerned with the arrangements and making good songs from beginning to end.
“There’s a solo in ‘Spiders,’ although it’s kind of a non-traditional solo, but it’s the one I love,” the guitarist reveals. Meanwhile, Shawn “Clown” Crahan said the band plans to release eleven unreleased songs that didn’t make it onto All Hope Is Gone (2008) in the coming years.
